Keeping in line with the graphical representation that we at BigFourZa have decided to adopt to do our season review to avoid the usual raaaambling that typifies any other season review, here’s United’s pre-season in pictures. It wasn’t much, just a few world-record transfers, trippy free transfers and the usual writing off of us by everyone in the world…
The Galacticos finally put together enough money at the height of the Spanish recession to buy CR7 from us forabout half the GDP of Somalia. His departure was met with mixed feelings – United is and always has been bigger than any single player. But then again, he was the best player in the world, right up alongside that little Argentine maniac. Was it the end of the world? No. But as has been cleverly referenced in the graph, there was a sinking feeling in all of us Mancs.
And then a bit of comic relief. The man the Kop worshipped not so long ago, and who ruined his career at Los Glacticos was United’s replacement No.7. A free transfer for a man worth $132 Million. On a pay-as-you-play package that too. If SAF was a CEO, the company owners would be very happy indeed with him. Oh wait…
Our pre-season, we went on a completely pointless tour of the Far East, where we reaffirmed the populariy of Park in his home country and of United in the whole area in general. Up till the Russian border of course. Because in Soviet Russia, the club supports you! Thanksfully, we came out of it all with no injuries (even for Owen!) so it’s all good.
More pre-season, and a rather premonitory match against Bayern Munich in the finals of the Audi Cup. That match went to the penalties, and was nowhere near the attacking football that the Champs League Quarters saw. However, the result remained the same. Of course, just before that game, a certain Antonio Valencia has made his United debut against Boca Juniors, and is now quite well on his way to becoming one of the adored ones.
Carlo’s first game in charge probably set the tone for how the rest of the season will pan out – Two teams chasing each other all through, each with their own methods and only one able to be crowned winner. So it was in the Community Shield as well, with the match undecided after 90 minutes and requiring a penalty shootout. In the midst of all that of course, was Ballack’s blatan body-check on Evra – another trend-setter for the season. ABSOLUTELY no feelings at all for that man missing the World Cup.
Till Next…
Forlan is a good player da… just like Robinho . . . they just cant play in EPL . . .
I just wish ‘the one’ player which SAF is bringing to OT is not a flop . . . like berba. . .
That Saurez looks to be playing decent. . .
By the way I am totally against fragile silverware like , silva and villa…. they will be in the infirmary with a week or two . . . . Just look at the Arsenal team. . . . half of their team is always injured. . . and we need some player with personality in the box. . . not like whining berba. . .
One of these will do/;
-Benzema
-Zaltan
-Saurez

United do not need a forward. Our formation for big games is usually 4-5-1 these days and with Rooney playing up front, the new signing will be relegated to the bench.. None of the top class forwards will accept that. We’ve got Chicarito now and we’ll just have to do with him.. What we need is a world class midfielder. The likes of Sneijder, Arteta who’ll play alongside fletch and who can replace PS18 in the long term.
Of you list Suarez is the only player that i’d prefer. Zlatan is Berbatov 2* and i personally feel that we dodged a bullet in Benzema..
* – Before i get bombarded with how they’re so different – They’re both overrated luxuries and can never be a spine that a team can be built on
well , we should not be soo dependent on 4-5-1, look what happens if Rooney gets injured. . . . its like Indian cricket some 8 yrs ago… Sachin falls then the whole line up collapses. . . It shouldnt be that way….
If Rooney plays up front alone.. there is too much pressure on him…. next season.. he will be marked like crazy. . . and now its apparent that ManU gets most of the goals from Rooney or Own goals. . . .Its only a matter of time every one of the opposition is around Rooney.
One more thing is, We need a target man in the box… although Rooney got a lot of header goals this season, we need an other target who can convert crosses with the same efficiency like Rooney. It shouldnt be Bera, who always has his head in his hands rather than ball in the goal. . . .

You’re touching on a sensitive issue here… You’re right that we cant depend on one man… but we are forced to play 4-5-1 in big games because our midfield is weak…. Giggsy and scholesy do not have the same energy anymore and they need fletch and Hargo/Ando/Carrick alongside them in addition to our wide men…. Rooney is the only person who can play in this formation… There aren’t many more strikers that can play in this position. Only the best do that and none of the best will agree to playing second fiddle to wazza… It’s now kinda like the 2008 liverpool which relied too much on torres up front… We may not like it but its the only way…
Buying a striker will not thus sort our this problem.. It’ll only provide a cover for wazza when we infact need some world class additions to our midfiled.. Once this happens, we can go back to playing 4-4-2 and then we can hope the that chicarito or Macheda will step upand be counted.. So midfield is the priority.. Frankly, i dont think i can bear to watch that worthless imbecile Carrick amble along in the centre of midfield… That worthless tool has single handedly lost us the league and CL this season….
Oh and btw mate… Its not MAN U.. We’re called UNITED or MAN UTD
