Firstly, let me promise you that this will be the first and last reference we make to Fred Durst and his motley gang of alleged musicians. And without further ado, here’s Chelsea’s pre-season in a box.
Most of my pre-season was spent wondering which of the 32 odd players The Sun promised were “done deals“ we’d actually sign. I was indifferent at that point of time to the appointment of Carlo, because we all know how quickly you can go from Scolari to “Where’s Plan B?“.
Ancelotti came out and said that we would not make any big signings and said that our squad was deep enough and that we would rely on our younger players to fill in the gaps. While that warmed the cockles of my heart, this announcement was followed by speculation about signing Maldini, though not strictly as a player. Not exactly youth policy.
Both the home and away kits were very tolerable. But that’s just in title-winning retrospect, I guess. Oh, and I almost forgot the Community Shield. The biggest thing was keeping John Terry at the club. I’ll leave you to toss around possible theories about what would have happened if he’d left for City in the comments. And after 3 title-less seasons, I could not wait for the season to start. I mean, there is only so much to be got out of watching Chelsea play the Seattle Sounders on a choppy live stream.
Stay tuned for more.

It could also be a reference to The Who.
And the new Chelsea kits – the red collar and shorts hem – aren’t so nice
I personally think the new red collar is swimming.
And I din’t notice any hemming on the shorts.

Just noticed red hems on the sleeves too.
