Define Irony : A bunch of football players missing Internationals for an injury they got introduced in the previous Internationals.
So finally we get to watch some International action. And boy, don’t I love it. England versus Brazil yeah. Does it get better than this. And at Doha. Yeah Woohoo. Stevie Gerrard won’t play in the midfield and definitely not from the Albert Riera side of it. Riera himself won’t be playing in the Riera side of it. For Spain of course. So spain will lose. Glen Johnson won’t play so England lose. Torres doesn’t get to play either. The Great Dane Agger will miss as much as his counterparts. Not sure if Israel plays any friendlies, but they better don’t. Voronin can play. Yes he can. Ukraine will definitely lose.
For the past few weeks I have been thinking of the phrase that rhymes “Clucking Bell”.
While supporters of other clubs fret about having to put up with 11 days of moaning and bitching, I will take this opportunity gladly to sit back and well get some life moving. Two days into it and I am already having a great time. That now sounds more like a break. Infact I am going to start a petition in Facebook to extend these breaks for three weeks. Why on the holy earth does it have to be for 11 days. So nation don’t just “Like” my status. Join me in a 20 mile parade starting from Ashok Nagar to Saravana Bhavan and then back to Ashok Nagar protesting the short-living nature of International Breaks. It Just breaks my heart these so-called breaks when they just come and go in my life just like that.
The Past few weeks have beyond doubt confirmed my belief that the league is bewitched. Honestly it has been a nightmare. We drew against the MIGHTY Birmingham. And David Ngog had to dive for Liverpool’s equaliser. David Ngog is no Robbie Fowler or Arshavin. He is just David Ngog. United losing doesn’t excite me anymore. City drawing does. Pavlyuchenko looks set to be the man who will solve Liverpool’s striker problems. Pavlyuchenko who? Spurs 4th choice. And I have to take piss rants from Gooners, which is amazing since not so long ago the roles were reversed. Can’t we Just sack Rafa and have Phil Brown please.
Honestly Speaking, I don’t think the team could do much about it. If its only Torres, we can stick a point against the manager. Our Luck seems to be going from bad to worse to ultra-worst. What I can’t stand the most is the anti-Rafa brigade. Its just plain obvious that the manager couldn’t do much about it. But everyone keeps talking about how Rafa will be the first to be sacked. I don’t think these people know anything about football to start with. The wonderful thing about supporting Liverpool is being delusional, as the Mancs would have it. Or in other words sticking together with the manager and the team when the chips are down and the bollocking is hard. I don’t know any club that has shown such a support for the top man despite not winning many. Why?
Some people think Rafa should be sacked JUST because the team loses. These are not true football fans but just selfish gloryhunters. I don’t support the team thinking they will win every trophy they compete in. I Support the team because I love it. I have wondered why fans of teams like Southampton or Leeds are so much vociferous and behind the team even though they play shit. There’s this inborn feeling ever since one starts supporting a club. It comes more naturally to native fans. For people like me who native scousers might assume as a plastic Asian fan, this is my chance for loyalty. There’s always pride in my heart every time I wear the Liverbird on my chest in my favourite number 8 Jersey. When we lose we lose 3 points. When we win the joy is unbound. I am proud that I am supporting a club that has got massive fan following. We may not be top of the league. But we top any other group of supporters around the globe. And that means a lot to me.
Vince Lombardi once said “Winning is not everything, it’s the only thing.” Later he said “Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing. And then “Winning is not everything, but wanting to win is.” My favourite Lombardi quote is “Winners never quit and quitters never win.” We ain’t quitters. That much I can tell.

Who said you should sack Rafa? Long may the rafalution continue…
Yes Rafa or for that matter no manager great or good can do much now..Its simply very unfortunate if all the imp players r picking injuries after injuries ..Neway Salute ur Scouse spirit mate!!!Tell you what we have been through this phase when everything looked extremely bleak and chants for wenger’s head was looming everywhere, so i can relate to ur feelings.
“I don’t know any club that has shown such a support for the top man despite not winning many. Why?”
We have over the past few years . We believe in the prof though his team building has come for much criticism.
The best thing to do from the liverpool board perspective is to stick to Rafa in this time of crisis and yes Persistence is very imp for any manager to deliver. Rafa has a good respect and command over his players and has delivered trophies. it will be an utter crisis worse to worst if he is sacked and unfair on the man.
My sympathies for u mate and i def dont want man city’s money to make the top 4 nd lose u from bigfourza next year
Even if Israel do play a friendly, you can rest assured Yoss the boss isn’t going to play da. Oh but he wont be playing for you blokes for another 3 weeks either. Sorry
This should be a fun to watch. Go brasil. I hope no one gets hurt. Rafa picked the team. He is the idiot who did this. http://bobbygee.wordpress.com/
