Oh wait ! Aren’t we missing someone in the list here ? Whatever happened to the ‘Best’ Player in England, winner of the prestigious PFA Mickey Mouse award ??
Must be sad really… being “THE BEST” player in England and not even making the 23-man shortlist for best player in the world. Pity.
Don’t worry lad I say. After all, none of his club-mates who were on that shortlist have made it either. Some consolation there.

Messi…
What in God’s name is Ballack doing there?
bachhe…he’s MICHAEL BALLACK…. bas naam hi kaafi hai
on a more serious note…he was excellent for the German national team and also consistent for the club
Consistently out of the team you mean.
And he’s not Rajni Kanth. For naam hi kaafi hai line and all.
Consistently out of the team?!… just how many games have u watched??… no seriously
and FYI…no he’s not Rajni. and yes, for anyone who watches football even casually will know who the German Captain is.
and my guess is that number is far greater than Rajni followers.
not that Rajni followers will agree to this.
U just don’t know anything abt Rajnikanth do you.
btw Arvi u stole the words from my mouth, like fer the second tym, first occasion was ur post about Cesc lifting a bigass trophy.
i think Lampard deserves it…..after winning the much coveted FA cup last time around and for flawlessly putting away penalties.
He sure does deserve it much more than most others.
And he has my vote.
20 goals and 20 assists, for nearly 5 consecutive seasons.
How do u beat that ?!
three effin consecutive EPL titles may be, thanx to Cronaldo, Vidic etc.
ummm…no, only due to ronaldo…. and mike riley
nice try…..
the mancs are just blowing oof some steam, let them b.. Lampard played good, but nowhere near Messi man. Stevie G looked good for it until he got injured…Messi can have it.
Ronaldo must be counted in as a UNITED lad too.. He was with United last season and this award is for last season
This list is fairly crap..
Ballack played a total of 37 games with 4 goals and 4 assists for chelsea, and 9 games with germany with 2 goals and 1 assist
Ryan giggs actually did better than ballack he had 3 goals and 14 assists in lesser no of games
Fabregas had 4 goals and 13 assists in lesser no. of games, and had 2 assists and 1 goal in 9 internationals
Torres played a grand total of 20 games for liverpool and failed to score in a sngle one of spain’s qualifiers and he’s still on it….
And Keyrock u claim that Lampard should be given the award for his consistency over 5 years, yet to claim giggs getting PFA player of the year for over a decade of consistency is wrong…
This is just FIFA being FIFA and releasing a ridiculous list with a list of perhaps the 23 most prominent names in world football, not necessarily the 23 best performers..otherwise im sorry, Lorik Cana for his performances for Marseille and Albania would be in the list ahead of Michael Ballack or Yoann Gourcuff for Bordeaux ( who also did well for france)
The very fact that only player from outside the big 3 leagues (and even he’s now in the Serie A) featured in that list is proof of how accurate a reflection of performances it is…
dude,
i agree messi was the best player last season, and its almost a given that he will win.
but am i not entitled to my opinion ??
i just said my vote goes to Lampard.
and yes giggs getting mickey mouse award was wrong, but u are wrong to compare his case with Lampard. Lampsy was amazing last season as well, for which this award is being given, and i think he is definitely in the top 3.
And Keyrock u claim that Lampard should be given the award for his consistency over 5 years, yet to claim giggs getting PFA player of the year for over a decade of consistency is wrong
Nail on the head mate… That should shut him up
Uh…just a question. Are u blind, ignorant, or simply stupid ??
did u even read the comment just above ur “attempted wisecrack”, or do u always keep making a fool outta urself !!?
20 goals and 20 assists, for nearly 5 consecutive seasons.
How do u beat that ?!
11 TITLES. 2 CL TITLES.150 GOALS and the HIGHEST number of ASSISTS in the HISTORY of the premier league
I remember that during one of our earlier arguments, i was referring to Giggsy’s stellar career and that he deserved the PFA award. But YOU vigorously argued that the award was for one season and that he wasn’t the best last year. NOW though, you’re arguing that Lampard should have the award for the same reasons. This makes you look like a foolish. arrogant. ignorant, hypocristic stupid….No one can argue that Messi deserves it for his treble and the runner up will be CR7 for this part in our Title and the CL runner up medal.
did u even read the comment just above
I DID.. It was as stupid as your other comments…Top 3 doesn’t make the winner.. Anyways, Lampard was never in the top 3. Gerrard makes it alongside Messi & CR7
ok, i see u really don’t get it, so fuhget it…
and u shameless bloody manc, atleast give credit where credit is due… gerrard ahead of lampard??… puhleeez
Yes.. Gerrard was definitely ahead of Lampard for me…. He was instrumental in liverpool’s first ever title challenge in my living memory…. His stats throughout the season prove that.. He wasn’t just scoring deflected goals and slotting home penalties like Lampard does
Yes.. Gerrard was definitely ahead of Lampard for me….
ok.. (snicker)
Divie Me may have the brain of a monkey but he still had more goals and assists than Lampard…
I reckon list is flawed but Messi without an iota of doubt. Xavi comes second logically
My top 3 will be Messi, Xavi and CR7 for elementary reasons they stand head and shoulders above rest
Messi,Ronaldo and iniesta….! any one else who makes it ,is just coz of sympathy!!!
and wherez Vidic in the top 23!!!!
