1. A 2 Goal cushion is totally enough to kill off the game. We simply must stop letting teams think they have a chance even when they’re two down.
2. We need to buy a goal keeper. Almunia is inadequate, Mannone is too young, Fabianski is scary and Sczesczny cannot get a jersey because the Nike cannot spell his name. Trivia: the aforementioned 4th choice goal keeper once broke BOTH his arms in training. I wonder how he managed to do that. Seriously
3. Clichy might need to err pick up a chest infection of his own. Maybe it’s time for Gibbs to be given a look in. Arseblogger joke paraphrased: Q. Why couldn’t Clichy get to the other side of the road? A. Because he cannot cross for shit. I would have mentioned both our full backs, but Sagna delivered the cross that led to Goal 1 and is now on probation.
4. This was our chance to make a clean push to the top. Pretty much everyone screwed up this weekend. United, Sunderland, Citeh. But no, we have to keep things tight and keep everyone happy by letting everyone play.
5. Chelsea have almost no chance of winning the league this year. They’ve dropped almost as many points as United and us and have the whole of January to play without Essien, Drogba and Mikel. Who’re they going to play? Kakuta? Oh wait.
6. We really need Rosicky and Nasri for the rest of the season. Eboue’s ‘vision’ and ‘class’ is clearly ahem suspect to say the least. He can win a mean freekick though.
7. Refereeing was equally suspect yesterday. The freekick wasn’t a freekick, Parker’s penalty claim was 50-50 to say the least and Cole should get an honorary doctorate in Physics from Oxford for admirable contributions to proving Newton’s apple theory in the field of football. Of course he might have to share with Drogba who was eqully theatrical against Blackburn.
8. Ngog is a really funny name. I keep thinking Eggnog and think even more when I look at his head. Fairplay to him though. Good finish.
9. Carling cup next. Time for the kids to bring the Scouse back to earth. Think they’ll bring a full strength team to the Emirates? I mean, this is one of the only two trophies they’re going to be fighting for this season.
